Studies have shown that mycotoxins can cause myelin loss, leading to symptoms similar to multiple sclerosis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, and other demyelinating disorders. “[para.6]
“Some studies suggest that the parasite Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) may be linked to suicide attempts, however, there needs to be meta-analysis completed for solid probability. For example, a 2012 study in The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found that people who test positive for the parasite are seven times more likely to attempt suicide. The study also found that those infected with T. gondii scored higher on a suicide assessment scale, indicating a greater risk for future attempts.”
